about my practice “Parenting with Humility and Humor”…..

Individual Psychotherapy

I am trained in early childhood mental health through transitional-aged youth. Sometimes we need someone to talk to outside our immediate inner circle to make sense of a transition, a struggle, an identity issue, or just for support through a developmental transition.

Coaching

Parent coaching is my love and passion. I know how challenging, hard and rewarding parenting can be and I keep it real. I work with parents sometimes individually but always keep focus on the child. I do home-based services and/or telehealth appointments.

Here are some of the issues I have helped families with:

  • postpartum anxiety/depression

  • having a child with special needs

  • adoption (international and domestic)

  • tantrums

  • developmental tasks

  • illness of a sibling or family member

  • grief and loss

  • gender transitions

  • divorce/separation/blending families

  • LBGTQAI identity development

  • learning differences

  • generalized anxiety or depression

  • bipolar disorder

  • health education/puberty

  • trauma healing, abuse/neglect

  • obsessive/compulsive D/O

Family Work

Whoever wants to be involved in treatment can be part of the process depending on the issue and developmental appropriateness. The focus will always come back to the child who is the primary client. I communicate by phone and email for updates and also work with school staff, doctors, or case managers as needed.
